Backing Up Simatic HMI TP700 Program To USB

Welcome to our followers on the Blog PLC Technical, today we will start together in the first lesson of the course HMI PANEL. This Article provides a step-by-step example of how to backup the runtime project files of a Simatic HMI TP700 comfort to a USB. 

This will allow the user to load screens to the corresponding Simatic HMI TP700 Comfort without the need for any WinCC software or a computer at all.

BACKING UP SIMATIC HMI TP700 PROGRAM WITH USB

I. Backing Up Simatic HMI TP700 Program To USB

There are three ways of backing up the Program on a panel TP700 comfort: 
  • Automatic backup 
  • Backup the Program with a memory card/USB 
  • Backup the Program with a software Simatic ProSave

The steps to Backup Simatic HMI TP700 Program via USB.
  1. Power cycle (turn off and on) the Simatic HMI TP700 Comfort by pulling out and reattaching the green plug on the back of the TP700 Comfort panel.
  2. Connect your USB with a Simatic HMI TP700 starting the console TP 700 comfort Booting the SIMATIC HMI and open the Control Panel
  3. Double-click on the Backup/Restore
  4. Select Storage Card, USB, click on the button NEXT

  6. Terminate the Backup

1.1 Procedure To Backup Simatic HMI TP700 Program

1. Power cycle (turn off and on) the SIMATIC HMI TP700 Comfort by pulling out and reattaching the green plug on the back of the TP700 Comfort panel. Go to following stage within 3 seconds.

2. Connect your USB To a Simatic HMI TP700 Comfort, starting the console TP 700 comfort

4. Double-click on the Backup/Restore

5. Please Select Storage Card, USB click on the button Next

6. Settings for Backup: In this case we have chosen Complete backup with licenses, and click Create to start the backup The load dialog box displays the percentage of items loaded to USB.

7. Terminate the Backup: 
  • The backup completed when the backup operation successfully completed
  •  Click on the button OK
